Founded by Larry and Stephanie Ihle, OBX Helicopter Tours has become a beloved part of the Outer Banks tourism community. Through their passion for aviation, commitment to safety, and dedication to providing exceptional customer experiences, Larry and Stephanie built a reputation for offering one of the most unique and memorable things to do in the Outer Banks. For 18 years, they have shared the beauty, history, and adventure of the OBX with families from around the world.
Today, Lori and Isaiah Burch are honored to carry on that legacy.
Lori is no stranger to the helicopter tour industry. With more than 30 years of experience, she has helped thousands of guests experience the excitement of their very first helicopter ride. Her enthusiasm, hospitality, and passion for sharing aviation with others have made her a familiar and trusted face in helicopter tourism.
Isaiah brings more than two decades of professional flying experience and over 5,000 flight hours. Throughout his career, he has flown sightseeing tours, instructed future pilots, conducted aerial application operations, and flown air ambulance missions. His commitment to safety and love for aviation are reflected in every flight.
Together, Lori and Isaiah previously owned and operated a successful helicopter tour company on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, where they spent more than a decade helping visitors create unforgettable vacation memories from the sky. Their experience operating one of the Southeast’s most successful helicopter tour businesses made the opportunity to continue the OBX Helicopter Tours tradition especially meaningful.
In 2016 and 2017, the Burch family’s greatest adventures arrived—daughters Josie and Sadie. Today, the entire family shares a passion for aviation and hospitality, making OBX Helicopter Tours a true family-owned and operated business.
